Problem
Approximately 49% of all Belizean children live in multidimensional poverty. Belize has an approximate 1.8% infant mortality rate, approximately three times that of the United States. Nutrition is still a concern: 19% of Belizean children are affected by growth stunting. Belize is also frequently hit by devastating tropical storms, and during the aftermath of such storms, food shortages only increase.
Objective
To love and nurture thousands of children throughout Belize, Central America. RAMM’s mission is to meet children in three aspects: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Just as Jesus fed thousands of people with five loaves of bread and five fish, we intend to feed children in impoverished communities and villages, where just a single meal can change a child for all eternity.
Goals
To feed a hot, freshly prepared meal to not less than 12,000 children every year. To create opportunities to meet additional physical needs, such as housing or medical needs, and to minister to the spiritual needs of those we feed.
Solution
To build a mobile kitchen, that will be deployed to impoverished communities and villages throughout Belize, feeding the bellies of children who often struggle to get a single meal in a day. To be able to serve as one more emergency response team, serving food in areas struck hardest by tropical storms and other natural disasters. There will never be any fee charged for a meal served out of this mobile kitchen.
